To be eligible for registration in Alberta applicants must:
- Be a graduate of an accredited chiropractic college
- Pass Canadian Board examinations, CCEB*
- Apply for a practice permit, supplying all required documentation and meet all application requirements including the successful completion of the Alberta jurisprudence examination.
*CCEB exam results are valid for one year from the date the certificate is issued, unless applicants can prove licensure in another regulated, ACAC-recognized jurisdiction.

AIT Application for Registration - agreement on internal trade (AIT) (if you currently hold an active chiropractic license with a Canadian chiropractic licensing jurisdiction)
Reactivation Application for Registration (if you previously held a chiropractic license in Alberta)
Application Process
1. When your application is received in full, you will be notified
and sent:
- Calculation of fees and dues
- Members' Manual
- A jurisprudence exam
2. Complete the jurisprudence exam using the Members'
Manual and send it back to the ACAC office with payment
of fees and dues.
3. Your permit will be issued 7 to 10 days following the receipt
of the exam and payment and any other documentation
requested.
ACAC Acupuncture Requirements
To practice acupuncture in Alberta, you must complete an accredited acupuncture program approved by the ACAC that includes a minimum of 200 hours of formal training and an official competency examination. Submission of your certificate of completion and proof of professional liability insurance for acupuncture to the ACAC Registrar is required before approval to practice acupuncture is granted.
