To apply for Continuing Competence credit for a seminar, the seminar provider must submit for each course, session or module:
- CC Application with Affidavit
- all requirements listed on the application
- $75 processing fee
CC credit approval is evaluated and awarded as follows
One CC credit awarded for each full hour of a program, seminar or course that is deemed to have chiropractic clinical relevance;
- and is related to core curriculum taught in a CC-accredited chiropractic college or sanctioned by a post graduate education department;
- and is taught by a lecturer with an academic appointment from a CC-accredited chiropractic college or a post-secondary teaching institute recognized by the ACAC;
- and supports the delivery of chiropractic care and is specific to ongoing clinical competence.
Seminars approved during the current period can add more seminar dates within this period at no additional cost or application process, as long as there is no change of instructors or course content. The current approval period ends June 30, 2011.
Courtesy Registration Required for Seminars in Alberta
Instructors must apply for a temporary courtesy registration when the instructor is a chiropractor who is licensed outside of Alberta and the seminar relates to the instruction of a chiropractic technique or modality.
One application per instructor needs to be submitted with the application for CC credit. The courtesy registration remains in effect for the remainder of the registration year ending June 30.
