About Chiropractic

What do chiropractors do?

Doctors of chiropractic diagnose, treat and help prevent conditions and disorders related to the back, neck, pelvis, extremity joints and the effect they have on the nervous system.

Primarily, chiropractors use a hands-on approach by giving patients adjustments. An adjustment is a non-invasive procedure that consists of a precise directed movement to help relieve pain and discomfort, and restore range of motion.

In addition to an adjustment, a chiropractor may also use other therapies such as ultrasound, x-ray, heat and massage. A chiropractor will not prescribe drugs or recommend surgery.

In addition to adjustments, chiropractors also help patients with nutrition, lifestyle and exercise. Click here for Your Guide to Chiropractic.
