Dr. Dale MacDonald
Chiropractic Sport Specialist at The Knee Clinic
Dr. Dale Macdonald is a chiropractic sport specialist in Calgary.  He is the clinical director of an image guided joint injection clinic, a multidisciplinary sport medicine clinic and the only private knee clinic in Alberta.  An avid fan of anything with two wheels, he is a chief medical officer for the International Motorcycle Federation and oversees athlete care for Red Bull Canada.Â

Dr. Gordon McMorland
Co-Owner & Director of Momentum Health National Spine & Wellness
Dr. Gordon McMorland graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto with honours in 1990. He is a Chiropractor and board- certified rehabilitation specialist with the American Board of Chiropractic Rehabilitation. He is also co-owner/director of Momentum Health National Spine & Wellness, a multi-disciplinary rehabilitation clinic in Calgary. In addition to private practice, he is a member of the Alberta Bone and Joint Health Institute Strategic Clinical Network’s core committee and is a tri-lead for the Spine Health Committee.

Dr. Natalie Carrington
Chiropractor & Registered Yoga Teacher, Diamond Valley Chiropractic and Health Centre
Natalie has worked as a chiropractor in Canada since graduating the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 1994, and practised acupuncture since studying in Sri Lanka in 1992. After practising yoga for several years, Natalie received her RYT 200 in early 2015. Natalie works in a multi-disciplinary rural health clinic with a community yoga studio attached. For Natalie and many of her clients, yoga continues to be part of a healthy lifestyle. Natalie enjoys facilitating many trainings at Centered on Centre Yoga Studio, including RYT 200, Yin, and Yoga for a Healthy Spine. Her favourite yoga classes to facilitate include those for children, special needs adults and children, prenatal, and seniors.

Wendy Coombs
CEO & Owner of Momentum Health and Evidence Sport & Spine
Wendy Coombs is the CEO and current owner of Momentum Health and Evidence Sport & Spine, a growing group of 10 clinics in Calgary Alberta offering chiropractic, physiotherapy, physiatry, sport medicine physicians, massage therapy, psychology, acupuncture, athletic therapy, kinesiology, personal training, and retail goods. She is a mentor with Venture Mentorship Services of Alberta. She is a past board member with Calgary West Central Primary Care Network Board, Alberta Women’s Entrepreneurs, and President of the Calgary Entrepreneurs Organization. She has two Bachelor of Science degrees in Psychology and Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta. She was a 2023 EY Entrepreneur of the Year Finalist for Prairies Canada and her companies won the 2023 & 2024 Calgary Top Choice Award.Â

Learn how to integrate OPTIMa clinical guidelines into your care plans to better support patients with musculoskeletal injuries and deliver stronger outcomes under the Care-First model.Â

Dr. Carol Cancelliere
Clinical epidemiologist and scientist at the Institute for Disability and Rehabilitation Research
Dr. Carol Cancelliere, BSc (Hons), DC, MPH, MBA, PhD, is a clinical epidemiologist and scientist at Ontario Tech University’s Institute for Disability and Rehabilitation Research and Faculty of Health Sciences. She leads the Canadian Chiropractic Guideline Initiative (CCGI), supporting best practice recommendations in musculoskeletal health and patient-centered care. After over a decade in clinical practice, she transitioned to research and academia, bringing expertise in public health, epidemiology, and health management. Dr. Cancelliere also holds the Rinaldi Research Chair in AI and Rehabilitation, where she advances personalized, data-driven rehabilitation for high-burden conditions like concussion, arthritis, and back pain, with a focus on equity and underserved populations.Â

Dr. Pierre Côté
Professor in the Faculty of Health Sciences and the Director of the Institute for Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation at Ontario Tech University
Professor Côté is a chiropractor and an epidemiologist who holds the Hann-Kelly Family Chair in Disability and Rehabilitation Research and the Research Excellence Chair in Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation at Ontario Tech University. He is the Director of the Institute for Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation (IDRR), and Director of the World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Center on Rehabilitation and Musculoskeletal Health. Côté is also appointed at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health, University of Toronto; Southern Denmark University, Odense, Denmark; MGM Institute of Health Sciences, Navi Mumbai, India, and at Sophiahemment University, Stockholm, Sweden. Côté currently serves as Chair of the IDRR unit of the Cochrane Rehabilitation, Chair of the EUROSPINE Diploma in Interprofessional Spine Care (EDISC), and he is a member of the Spine20 Scientific Committee.
Dr. Côté is actively involved in several international research, rehabilitation, and health policy initiatives. He previously led the development of the Common Traffic Injury Treatment Protocols for the Government of Ontario. He is a member with the World Health Organization (WHO) World Rehabilitation Alliance and has contributed to several WHO projects including the WHO Development Group for program of rehabilitation interventions for low back pain. Professor Côté has published more than 400 peer-reviewed papers.

Dr. Ashley Smith
Doctor of Philosophy and Director of Research and Rehabilitation at Vivo Cura HealthÂ
Ashley has appointments with the Department of Clinical Neurosciences at the University of Calgary and McMaster University School of Rehabilitation Science. Ashley has over 50 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters, primarily investigating pain mechanisms, whiplash-associated disorders and orthobiologics. Ashley’s ongoing postdoctoral clinical research studies investigate how clinical manifestations of WAD can be modulated, both interventionally and via endogenous analgesia. He is also a member of the Cochrane Musculoskeletal group, investigating the role of spinal injections in people with chronic neck and low back pain. Ashley’s clinical responsibilities revolve around co-ordinating evidence-based inter- and multi-disciplinary care of people with chronic musculoskeletal pain as Director of Rehabilitation and Research at Vivo Cura Health. He is also a tireless patient advocate and volunteers with FAIR Alberta to advocate for the rights of Albertans injured in motor vehicle collisions and was honored to be the first non-lawyer to be recognized for community advocacy efforts on behalf of those people.Â
