Chiropractic. Proactive hands-on health care that works.
Chiropractic is a health discipline firmly grounded in science and endorsed by research. Evidence continues to prove the value of chiropractic care with consistently high marks for clinical effectiveness, cost efficiency and patient satisfaction.
Non-invasive and Precise
The main form of treatment chiropractors deliver is called an adjustment — a non-invasive procedure consisting of a precise directed movement to help relieve pain and discomfort, and restore range of motion. Chiropractors may also utilize therapies like X-ray, laser, acupuncture, traction and more.
When to See a Chiropractor
Some of the common conditions people see a chiropractor for include: conditions of the spine and extremities, back pain, neck pain, headaches and migraines. Work injuries or whiplash are also common. Insurance may cover these conditions.
Chiropractors provide treatment through acute and
chronic care, rehabilitation and prevention. Acute and chronic care includes, increased flexibility and restoring function. Rehabilitation increases strength, and stability. Prevention includes posture and lifestyle modifications.
Our Strategic Plan
The Chiropractic Association of Alberta promotes and advocates to patients, government, health professionals, and insurers on the imperative role of chiropractors.
